NEW MATTER
Surface designer Saskia Pomeroy has collaborated with Walthamstow initiative Wood Street Walls, to create a 160m long mural along the perimeter of the Kitchener Road Park. It took 2 weeks to paint, and features her usual joyous and bold shapes, with phrases and colour palette selected from many via an online vote involving local residents.
The project aims to promote community cohesion ahead of Waltham Forest’s Borough of Culture program of events in 2019, and visible from London’s North Circular road also brings colour and fun to the urban landscape.
