NEW MATTER
Owen Gildersleeve was commissioned by Meta Open Arts to create a series of striking and abstract paper works to commemorate Mental Health Awareness Week. Reimagining how we understand and talk about mental health, Owen's delicate and intricate designs take a gentle and empathetic perspective toward the often-invisible struggles that affect our mental health.
A combination of illustration and typography, each of the six stunning pieces Owen created are based on various themes, including Talk About It, Switching Off, Telling My Story, The Path Twists and Turns, Neurodiversity and Metamorphosis. Each represents a small, simple action we can take to build resilience and eliminate the shame and stigma often associated with mental health struggles.
Each of Owen's creations were then also brought to life through animation, which adds a whole new beauty to the absract pieces.
