Martha Olivia X LARK Whisky

Working with Manchester based agency LOVE, illustrator Martha Olivia was commissioned to create the beautifully detailed and elegant illustrations for Tasmanian whisky brand LARK's brand identity and packaging.

The aim was to build the new branding design around Tasmania’s unique climate, leaning on the idea of Tasmania as a mystical island combined with all of the native flora and fauna. With her intricate and detailed style, she redrew the Lark bird, creating a visually rich and layered illustration that gives the new branding a high end, luxury feel, making LARK a serious competitor in the world of whisky. 

The master illustration that will be the core visual imagery for the brand packaging, has been applied across five key packaging variations - each with a distinctive colour that compliments the different whiskies.

This project really aligned with how I like to 
work – focusing on fine details, rich colour, and layered textures. I enjoy honing in on the craft and pushing each element to be as refined as possible.

From initial sketches through to colour and final details, I focused on the forms of native florals, using the layering and weaving of leaves and buds to imitate feathers, while incorporating the rich brand colours.
