EXHIBITION

Solo Exhibition in Tokyo

Mixed media artist Joe Cruz held a solo exhibition at Tokyo’s Gallery COMMON in May, showcasing over 100 original pieces created using a variety of production processes. His expressive mark making and techniques applied to processed photography transform the images into bold and  captivating designs.

“I research visual styles throughout art history and try to replicate techniques using my printer and a range of materials producing artwork that has the same value as a painting but created using extremely lo fi processes. I aim to question the value of art, as most importantly to me is for my work to create an emotional response from the viewer, as honestly as I can, using the most accessible techniques and production methods.” – Joe Cruz
