Jill
Tran
Brighton-based illustrator, Jill Tran, crafts graceful and nostalgic compositions that weave together a diverse range of influences and techniques to tell a story. Having grown up in Saigon and spent time in Singapore before the UK, Jill’s work is strongly connected to the design ethos of her cultural background in the layers of meaning and detail she uses.
Jill’s work can be found across branding, packaging and campaigns as well as editorial. Clients include Le Monde, Breathe Magazine, 1664 Blanc and Amex amongst many more.

"
I am walking on a fine line between opposites –east and west, chaos and order, old and new, real and surreal.
"
Once I settle on a composition, I refine the forms, build the linework, and select a colour palette that best conveys the mood. From there, I dive into the details, shaping each element with patterns, strokes, and textures.
"
I strive to build my own ‘language’, in visual terms – a world where every line, shape, and shade speaks with the fluency of lived experience, where each work becomes a sentence in an evolving dialogue.
