I've always been curious about, and felt a close connection to the natural world. Some of my illustrations have an almost encyclopedia-feel to them.

It's really important for me to be able to convey a sense of otherness, of having a peek into something unfamiliar, sort of like watching through a looking glass.

Whenever I work on more abstract, less character based themes, for example various microscopic phenomena, I try to create images that have a monumental and immersive quality to them.

When it comes to colors, I'm always prioritizing mood and atmosphere, trying to pin down what works best for a particular project, often going for a more unconventional palette to create some tension.

I'm heavily inspired by the natural world and understanding of nature, and I've always been observant about little details and footnotes in works of pop culture, animation, art history, encyclopedias.

My characters are often anatomically and thematically ambiguous, and I think my sense of humor is best conveyed visually particularly when I'm working on character design; whenever I sketch out new creatures, I get in a sort of easy-going, conversational mode.
