NEW MATTER
We're in New York!
We're beyond excited to announce the launch of our New York office!
Since our humble beginnings back in 2017, we've had the pleasure of working with a host of wonderful clients and artists based in the US, and all over the world, from our East London studio in the UK. Six years on, and our feet firmly under the table, is the start of a new chapter – to build on these relationships and grow what we've started, together with the wonderful creative communities in New York and beyond.
To coincide with this, we're super pleased to welcome two new artists to the Grand Matter family, Dror Cohen and Gizem Vural, both living and working in New York. Find out more about their work below, as well as links to their portfolios.

Dror Cohen
Dror creates tableau-like scenes in gouache, conveying moods and situations. Her vivid use of colour and unique eye for movement and story telling result in beautiful moments captured as though paused in time. She takes inspiration from theatre, dance and fashion, her work lending itself to all sorts of outputs, from editorial publishing to branding, fashion, culture and much more. Clients include The New Yorker, Port Magazine, WeTransfer and The Washington Post amongst others.

My process always starts as a search, which is a part I really love. I work off a few basic associations, and search through movies, books, and picture magazines.
– Dror Cohen
Gizem Vural
Gizem found her love for illustration in Istanbul, after initially studying graphic design there. Since, Gizem has developed a unique style of intricate hand drawn abstract compositions over the years, exploring shapes and layers, taking inspiration from nature, music & sound and architecture. She has worked with many big publications and brands, including The New Yorker, Apple, The Guardian and Bloomberg, and most recently collaborated with art and music discovery platform Vinyl Moon.

I like the feeling of pencil gliding over the paper. When I create gradient colouring, I love to see the texture of the paper, and so the choice of paper is very important to me.
