Gemma O'Brien X Cult Beauty
Online make-up and beauty store Cult Beauty enlisted the help of artist Gemma O'Brien to create the master artwork for their 2023 advent calendar packaging and campaign.
Gemma was tasked with creating an intricate and beautiful celestial-themed artwork which would adorn not only the advent calendar itself, but also the packaging for a series of product collections, as well as a range of assets to promote the campaign across the brand's website, socials, and marketing.
In addition to the physcial packaging and online marketing assets, Gemma's artwork was used to create a series of animations to promote the campaign and collections on Cult's socials.

We firstly collaborated with 3D digital artist Rose Pilkington to create a short piece consisting of CGI and live action footage, wherein the Cult Beauty calendar is seen to have appeared on London's Regent street, among a cosmos of stars, flowers, and clouds which Rose created inspired by elements in Gemma's original design.
We then also worked with our in-house animators Plastic Horse on a set of short animations to promote various product collections; bringing to life Gemma's artwork by creating a visual journey through her cosmos design.
Plastic Horse incorporate product photography as well as seemlessly blending in 3D elements from Rose's work, creating a wonderfully abstract hybrid of styles.

About Gemma O'Brien
Gemma is a typographic illustrator and mural artist based in Sydney, Australia. Her bold and graphic pieces combine digital and hand made techniques, and often take inspiration from nature.
