Enikő Eged is an illustrator, pattern designer and artist based in Budapest, combining hand crafted and digital mediums to create spirited artwork with and warm atmosphere. Often taking inspiration from the animal world and folk tales, Enikő uses recurring themes and motifs along with a distinctive use of colour across a number of different approaches and mediums.
Having collaborated with fashion & homeware brands, book publishers, music labels, restaurants and design studios, her clients include Lucy & Yak, VYF Scarfs, Slowdown Studio and Handhandhand among many more.

I've been enthusiastic about horses since early childhood. I love the way how I can explore horses' beautiful body, movements and behavior with an abstract visual language.
"
Usually when I'm drawing something at some point I imagine it as a pattern. It's so magical to see my designs in different context and I'm so happy and grateful for that.
"
I truly love drawing everyday life moments, and bodega cat illustrations are one of my favorite topics. When I enter a shop, bakery, or market and I notice there are cats inside, I feel immediately at home, and I think that nice people work and live here because they share their place with cats.
"
Lately I've started examining how I can find common traits between the graphic languages of different folklore aesthetics and how contemporary illustration trends are abstracting figures.
"
Still life drawing is a really good practice, it pushes me out of my comfort zone but still allows me to choose my tools to create.
