NEW MATTER
Illustrator Alec Doherty was enlisted by the luxury British fashion brand, Paul Smith, to create a series of witty and charming character-based illustrations to adorn the tableware in the new Paul Smith Café at Printemps department store in Paris.
The team at Paul Smith set out to create a café that felt like a joyful place to be, and Alec's energetic and tactile illustrations were just the ticket for that. Each individually designed piece tells the story of a shopper who is looking for a little bit of respite in the café after a big shopping spree.
As well as being used in the café itself, each product is also available to purchase from Paul Smith, so you can inject a bit of joy into your own home.
Head to the Paul Smith site to shop the full collection, and find out more about the process behind Alec's illustrations – including a wonderful short film about the collaboration.
