Wadim
Petunin
Wadim is an illustrator and designer based in Hamburg, Germany. His roots in fashion and design run through his work, creating refined yet reflective figurative images that often explore identity, lifestyle and queer culture, and inspired by people and their stories. Wadim creates much of his work digitally, introducing a mixture of texture and line work, and unexpected moments of colour.

"
I've always been a fan of muted, natural colours but still like to add a bold and vibrant touch somehow. Giving my figurines unusual skintones is something that stuck with me and that I really like.
"
Fashion has a huge influence on my life and my work. It has so much to offer – particularly experimenting with gender boundaries and weird
proportions.
"
A lot of my work is self reflective and personal. Illustration helps me to tell stories and share experiences.
"
Drawing digitally while still using some rough
strokes and textures is the best way for me to express my ideas, and especially animation is an amazing tool to convey a narrative.
